当你的新闻在社交媒体上被分享时，处于居中位置的标题能吸引更多读者来看新闻内容。基于以上几个原因，我想说，标题是新闻发布中最最重要的部分。
由于新闻标题在吸引读者、被搜索以及鼓励社交分享方面的重要性，我认为可以分析一下让你的新闻和其他网络内容更加有效的技巧。简言之，包括：
长度–标题长度应在90-120字符之间(字符，包括空格。不指单词)。(注：中文标题我们建议在17-25个词之间)
关键词–把最重要的关键词放在标题开始处(在头65个字符之内)。
标题中包含数字。人们一般喜欢看到明确的数字点。
用子标题来加入更多点的细节。
我们发现，标题长度在吸引读者和鼓励向社交媒体分享方面有重要作用。理想的长度是90-120个字符。
为什么呢?首先，理想的标题长度恰好是在Twitter分享时的最佳长度。我们一直建议客户写可以被社交媒体转发(tweetable)的标题。可以很确定的说，最有效的新闻标题的长度等于Tweet时的理想长度决不是巧合(记住，还要给句柄和短链接留点地方)。美通社与CrowdFactory的联合研究表明，每次社交媒体分享会给新闻多带来两个浏览量。所以，尽量确保你的新闻以Twitter友好的'形式出现。
标题SEO：前65个字符很关键
标题在把网页内容通知搜索引擎时起关键作用。如之前所讲，搜索引擎对网页上方的文字赋予更多的权重。另外，很多网站(包括美通社网站)使用网页中title 标签的标题，这个标签也是影响SEO的重要因素。尽量优化标题可以提升新闻的网络能见度(visibility)。
标题优化并不难，但可能要求你重新思考如何构建标题。因为搜索引擎只索引标题的前65个字符。若想达到最佳效果，必须将最重要的关键词放在标题的前面部分，甚至是标题的最前面。
另外一个需要重视的是，不要把标题做成关键词的堆砌。搜索引擎很擅长发现自然语言，很快能把关键词垃圾屏蔽。所以，不要做得太过界。每每谈到关键词，有人就很容易把好事做过头。只有当你的新闻稿集中于1-2个关键词时，SEO的技巧才会最大程度帮到你。
在标题里使用数字(当需要时)
我们这次研究发现的一个最令人惊奇的事实，乃是在标题中带有数字的新闻稿的表现较之无数字的要好。如果你的新闻稿中引用诸如调查结果或绩效的数据，或是给读者提供某领域一些不争的事实，那么最好在标题中点明。标题中的数字传达的信息或有关即时性，或有关事实性，无论怎样，都能增强新闻本身的可信度。
用子标题增加细节信息
我观察每天的新闻稿，发现很多公司或机构感觉很难做到把标题字数限定在90-120个字符以内。那怎么办?你可以用子标题来补充上一些不太重要的细节信息，使主标题不那么冗长。你会发现这样让新闻视觉上更吸引人。读者也会觉得更易抓住重点，从而更愿意继续读下去。
重新思考你的新闻稿
